The rebirth of Russia's closed cities
By Dmitriy Nikonov and Igor Khripunov 16 October 2008

Almost upon developing the bomb, the Soviet Union enforced strict security measures within its nuclear weapons complex. In particular, it established so-called "closed cities"--one-employer settlements complete with travel restrictions and barb-wired perimeters that were tasked with designing, manufacturing, and servicing the most sensitive pieces of the Soviet nuclear weapons arsenal. For decades, the closed cities were the country's crown jewels, and as such, they had substantially better living conditions, infrastructure, and lower crime rates than the rest of the country. But when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, government support for the closed cities almost disappeared entirely, leaving them in a dire state for much of the 1990s and the early portion of this decade. 6 days until we elect an new President for the next generation. Some say we need a change, others a revolution. One thing remains true... in our daily lives we all feel the tension of the time we live in. From the gas pump to the local eatery a slow siphon has begun on the way we go about our lives. The government bailing out astronomic numbers of money to save a system designed to only make the richer ... well richer! Most people don't even realize that the banking community is for the most part PRIVATE in nature. Yet so tied to our daily lives that we cannot function as a society without it. They are now receiving (Billions?) of our tax dollars. Now that's POWER. The word Monopoly and stupidity comes to mind. Hummm... doesn't our govermental entity have provision to prevent such things from happening? Guess not when it comes to the new world order. Oh I forgot, you still think that's all whoooie.

If the events of the recent year have not shown you a diffrent world today, don't be surprised by what comes tommorow....

"In the End there will be signs..."

My Grandmother used to tell me stories of the devil coming back to rule on Earth before the return of Christ. A time when money meant nothing and all that we held true was being tested before ours eyes. She called it the Great Depression.... When I was became old enough to learn of "those times" I asked her what she meant as I grow up in the 60's.

My Grandmother told me not to worry something called the rapture would save me. A great gathering with christ in the heavens as the world engulfed in war, financial crisis, famine and fatigued at the seems. All of mankind against another... I later read that only 144,000 would meet the Lord that day. I asked her what she meant as I became aware of the Universe.

My Grandmother sent me a letter while on active duty in the Persian Gulf telling me how proud she was of me for guarding the gates of Heaven. My Mother told me of her early developments of alzheimers and the onset of dementia. I never saw my Grandmother again. She has since past on to her faith.

Today I watch as the markets fall, Man continues to fight man, and all is on the verge of collapse.

... ever wonder what to do when no one will listen?

Sounds something like; if a tree falls in the woods but there's no one around to here it, does it make a sound? Recently someone asked me why I have the statement "somtimes" after the blogger logo on various websites I publish. Which lead me to ponder why I do what I do? This in reference to a blog I posted last year when a DNS was unable to be renewed.

Sometimes we try to do the "right things" for the "right reasons" and those around us are just blind to the big picture. -that's a dig to the class of 83- "We don't need no stink ploma essa"

Anyway a year later and a great domain name is now peddling smut... what a waste!

I consoul myself with a healthy dose of LockerGnome...and keep doing what I do best. "I'd eat bon bons but I'd only get fat" If only Chris could fix this?

PIHS Professional Internet Help Service
I've just got off the phone with an old friend and the conversation was a little gim.

"It seems google has stopped publishing new web sites" he said. To which I replied; "Do you really believe that"? Hoping that my tone would convey over the phone. "Of course I do." he replied. "And I'm adding this to my research notes as well!...." SEO Studies with real world results!
